This base station was originally built for a graphic designer who required fast hard drive speeds, dual monitor connectivity and a future proof upgrade path due to software design advancements.
Unfortunately, this fell through as the designer went from sole trader to work for a design warehouse and this PC was confined to the shelf until now. With the current Covid-19 situation I've had a chance now to go through old stock and blow away the dust. Upgradability was the name of the game with this PC. Using the best MSI-Pro motherboard, matched RAM and Hybrid drives, this is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. With 6th Gen processors now becoming cheaper, an upgrade to the i7 for a true outright muscle is an easy upgrade path to take - or leave her as she is to enjoys hours of stress-free computing.
The Intel Core i3 6600K is based on the new and improved Skylake architecture that delivers more performance per clock, with games and applications all benefiting from the extra speed. These processors also support Turbo Boost, which automatically increases the processor frequency when you most need it, giving an extra boost of speed.
Previous generation Intel processors such as the Core i7 4790K processor used DDR3 memory, typically running at 1600 or 2133MHz. The new Intel Core 6th Gen have an enhanced memory controller that supports DDR4 memory. DDR4 runs between 2133 and 3000MHz, giving a very healthy performance boost over DDR3
